Summer Heat

I found this retro-inspired floral dress at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago, and it's proved itself to be the perfect summer dress. I accessorized it with my handmade glitter bottle necklace and a vintage blue strand of beads.
Obsessed with this manicure!
I repainted the heels of my white boots the other day. I'm really loving the polka dots!

Patches

I've been collecting patches for a while, and I finally sewed them onto something! This vest used to be my trusty denim jacket, but I cut the sleeves off to make it more appropriate for the steamy Nashville heat. I must say, I'm pretty darn proud of my patience and sewing ability as I completed this project. All of these are sewn on... I resisted the urge to glue/ iron-on any of these. You should be proud of me too.
On the front of the vest, I sewed on my "Grrrl" patch from Dori and my DCXV "I Believe in Nashville" patch. The pins are from several different places... I also pinned on my recently created Perler bead brooches.
This mini is from Target.. I've been loving the look of mini-skirts recently, and this one is just about perfect! It adds an tough/edgy vibe to everything I wear it with.

This "Kawaii" name necklace was gifted to me from ONecklace.com. I love the look of name necklaces, but I think "Zoe" is too short to look good in metallic calligraphy jewelry. Instead, I went with kawaii. It's a great layering piece with my other necklaces.

OMG

I found these earrings at a beauty supply store in Nashville the other day... $1.99! They're my new favorite pair! Also, I made this headband the other day with a toy tea set.

My friend Dori gave me this harness for my birthday, and I think it's the perfect addition to this dress from Pink Queen. The dress was a gift from the website. I love the color! There are so many galaxy dresses in stores these days, and I haven't seen many in this color. It's a very cool piece!

The Trunk: Nashville's First Fashion Truck!

I've been a fan of The Trunk for some time now. The Trunk is Nashville's first fashion truck, stocked with too many cool pieces to count! The style of the clothing definitely personifies "Nashville cool." And best of all, The Trunk carries Amanda Valentine tees! Last week, when the people at The Trunk asked me come over and style a look for under $100, I was so excited! Here are some of the photos I took during my visit.
Gorgeous jewelry! I love pieces with raw, organic looking stones.

So many amazing Valentine Valentine tees!!
Cute cute cute!

This is the look I chose! I picked out a Valentine Valentine tee and a Rehab blazer and styled them with some of my own items.
In love with this blazer! It's very Beetlejuice and so chic! It definitely adds a rock n' roll touch to any outfit.
(Attempting to put hands in pockets but failing due to large cocktail ring)
I took a few more pictures after my visit.. Valentine Valentine tee, worn with Urban Renewal shorts, Jeffrey Campbell booties, DIY purse, Betsey Johnson Earrings, sunglasses from Savant Vintage, and one of my original headbands

Thank you so much to The Trunk Nashville for giving me this opportunity! I had a great time!

Perler Bead Queen

I've recently renewed my childhood love of of Perler beads, those little plastic beads you arrange on a peg-board and iron together. I used them to make brooches and this heart pendant necklace. But my DIYing didn't stop there! I also made the other necklace I'm wearing. I found these tiny glitter bottles in the cosmetic section of the dollar store, glued-on the caps, and turned them into little charms on a chain! I DIYed this phone case, and this headband is recent handmade creation as well.

I recently tried out some frosty pink lipstick, and I really like. Obviously, it's not as fun as blue, but it's a  nice 90s throwback.

This green ring and the rhinestone butterfly ring were a few bucks at a local beauty supply store. The super-shiny opal-looking ring is from the Hip Zipper in East Nashville.

Jelly Shoes

These blue JuJu Jellies are one of my recent purchases, and I cannot get enough of them! I've been wearing them nearly every day since they arrived in the mail. I had worried that they would be too sweaty and uncomfortable, because they're entirely made of jelly material. I've actually found them to be very comfortable. It's fun to wear them with cute socks, like these psychedelic marble ones.
I'm also sporting my Oasap Purple Peplum Top in this outfit. It was gifted to me from Us Trendy Indie Fashion Marketplace, which I mentioned in my last post. It's so cute... with the bow and the peplum and the sleeves... basically the epitome of kawaii. Plus, the periwinkle color is absolutely beautiful!
I've been really into nail art recently... I feel like I'm constantly repainting my nails! And I've started doing my moms nails too! I painted these cute watermelons on my nails a few days ago. Unfortunately, they're not lasting very well with all the DIYing and crafting I've been doing recently!
A jelly close-up
I found this little creepy doll necklace at a vintage store in NYC.
This poodle purse is from the kid's section of TJ Maxx. I snagged it for $9.99. Originally, it had a pink metallic handbag strap, but I switched it out for something a little bit more mature. I love incorporating child-like, fun elements into the way I dress now. Fashion is supposed to be fun!
