Checks + Polka Dots

I made this headband a couple days ago, and my it's one of my all-time favorites! It includes a bird, a trumpet, a strawberry eraser, a plastic compass, a mini boom box, and two Barbie shoes- sort of like an I SPY game! I've really enjoyed crafting the past couple weeks that I've been home for break. It's nice to have time to make headbands!
My beetle earring is Betsey Johnson. I used to have two, but I lost one. Now I only wear the one with a stud on the other ear.
My jacket and pants are both Goodwill finds from a few years ago. They used to be some of my favorite pieces to wear then I was a Sophomore in high school (see the pants in this post, this post, this post, and this post from that year). I was actually a bit obsessed with these pants, now that I see all these old posts. My shirt is from Forever 21, and my shoes are from the Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop collection.
This is a United Colors of Benetton bag I found at Goodwill a couple days ago. I'm really into fuzzy, textured clothing and accessories right now.
This is the necklace I made for part of my Spatial Dynamics final. It's made out of Sculpey clay that I painted, glittered, and attached to chain from the hardware store.

Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays, everyone! To celebrate, I made a Christmas-themed headband, complete with vintage elf figurines and miniature pre-made bows. I've been wearing it quite a bit the past few days; it's a seasonal piece, and I need to wear it while I can!

The other accessories in this look include heart prism earrings from Walmart, a rhinestone lips bracelet from Claire's Accessories, and some thrifted necklaces. My lipstick is MAC in "Ruby Woo."
I found this fluffy teddy bear sweatshirt at Forever 21, and it's one of my current favorite pieces to wear! I love the unusual texture! I wore it over a pair of postage-stamp printed shorts from Topshop.

My sunglasses are from Savant Vintage Couture in Nashville, and my earrings are from Walmart. My lipstick is MAC, and the color is "Ruby Woo."
A few days ago, I purchased this UNIF sweater from one of my favorite stores in the Nashville area, House of Stella. I layered it over a dress from Pretty Snake by Joseph Aaron Segal.
This doll eyeball necklace is from a store in Providence called Craftland. It blinks when it moves!

Monster Scarf + New Hair

I just had my hair dyed pink and purple! When it's brushed correctly, my bangs are exactly half pink and half purple. My new hair inspired the the color palette for this outfit.
I'm wearing my new Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop knitted monster stole. It's so fuzzy and adorable. I'm also wearing a DIYed and googly eyed pair of sunglasses, originally gifted to me from Giant Vintage. The lipstick I'm wearing is MAC Ruby Woo.
The stole is styled with a slouchy striped tee shirt and black lacy skirt- some T.J. Maxx finds from a few years ago. These two garments were some of my favorite pieces to wear during my Freshman and Sophomore years of high school.
My glittery striped tights are also from the Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop collection.

My nails match my scarf's nails!

Meow, Meow

I've just finished up my first semester at the Rhode Island School of Design, and I'm back in Nashville! I'm glad to have a few weeks to catch up on things- D.I.Y. projects, art, reading, and blogging!
I wore this outfit downtown the other day to run some errands and get my hair cut. This coat is a thrifted piece I borrowed from my mom for the day.
I'm wearing the coat with a pair of Forever 21 pants and a graphic tee. My lipstick is Lime Crime "Serpentina," and my sunglasses were a gift from Find the Light Sunnies.
And last, but certainly not least! My new Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop shoes!! I ordered them online right when the collection was released. They're pretty much the most perfect shoes I've ever encountered.

Some Stuff I Made

In these photos I'm wearing my final project from my Spatial Dynamics class. I made a dress, a headband, and a necklace to be worn together as a complete look. I was inspired by tooth and gum structures.
This dress is made out of pink and red Hanes sweatshirts. The top part of the dress is an in-tact sweatshirt, and the bottom section is made out of sleeves cut into sections and paneled. I hand-stitched the dress together with embroidery thread. I also hand-sewed the appliqué details on the top part of the dress, and glued rhinestones on top.
I made the necklace out of oven-bake clay. I used the clay to make impressions of my retainer, and then I painted and glittered them. Afterwards, I wired them onto chain to construct a necklace.
I chose pink and red flowers to stay true to my color scheme, and I added some leftover clay components from the necklace and some rhinestones to further unite the look.

This is one of my preparatory drawings for the project. I drew a cross-section of a tooth using markers, gel pens, holographic sticker paper, glitter, and rhinestones.
