Spring Fever

The weather is so chaotic here in Nashville! One week is sunny and warm, and then the next is horribly rainy and dreary. The sun has finally come out again, and I'm ready for some Spring clothes! It's time to bring out the bright colors and prints, and put away the tights!
This blouse with this skirt is my new favorite print combination.

I borrowed this necklace from my mom today. It's from Forever 21, but it looks just like the enamel floral pieces I see at antique stores all the time. The bright colors are so wonderful!
Skirt, vintage (from Goodwill). Floral Top, Necklace, Flower, Forever 21. Lace Top, Bag, Charlotte Russe. Shoe, Dolce Vita.

Lately, I've been really inspired by this photo of Frida Kahlo. The colors and prints are so beautiful! And I love the flowers!
I found this photo on tulletulle.tumblr.com, but I don't know it's original location. If you do, let me know!

Chameleon

I never thought it possible for one pair of shoes to be SO tacky and SO wonderful at the same time. Until yesterday, that is. I found these COLORCHANGING (!) Moda Spana sling-backs at a thrift store that shall remain nameless. Can you believe it??!?! Chameleon shoes!

Dress, vintage. Jacket, Moschino Cheap & Chic (from Goodwill). Flower, h&m. Sunglasses, borrowed from my dad). Bracelet, made at SCAD metals & jewelry class.
Worn with MAC Cosmetics Process Magenta pencil and Red Electric pigment powder.

Cute as a Button

I found these cute-as-a-button Fornarina kitten heels at Marti & Liz a couple days ago. The pale surf-green color is super versatile and goes with just about everything.

Fall Winter 2011: Duro Olowu

In a sea of black and grey wooly layers, anything with a print or color stands out to me. Why swim in the sea of black and grey neutrals when there's a whole world of bold fall prints out there?!

The Duro Olowu collection sticks to the traditional fall trends of long hemlines and layered outerwear, but with a colorful spin, proving that you can easily incorporate summery maxi-dresses and skirts into your fall wardrobe with simple additions, such as woolen capes and coats.
The yellows, oranges and vibrant indigo-purples are anchored with tweedy tartans. The prints are exotic and leafy, patchworked into long, bohemian skirts, and retro capelets.
Well I'm certainly a new fan. What do you think of the collection?

Seeing Stereo

I found this dress last week at Goodwill, and I'm thoroughly obsessed. It has the most wonderful, floaty shape and Indian feel. And... it doesn't have a tag, so I'm wondering if it's authentic Indian.

Worn with an Anthropologie flower, Sam Edelman "Zoe" booties, my dad's sunglasses, a clutch I received as a gift, a Charlotte Russe two-finger ring, and a cuff I made at SCAD last summer.

SLOUCH

I purchased this cozy sweater at Goodwill recently, and I'm in love. The Missoni-esque print is so bohemian and relaxed, yet so glamourous. It's a 3XL, originally from Jones New York. It looks especially great with long, layered necklaces and jewel tones. For this look, I paired it with my bleached quote jeans.

I wear this hat all the time now. It is charmingly old-fashioned, and keeps my head warm.

Laurence Kazar

It was half-off saturday at Goodwill yesterday, and I found some fabulous pieces. This blouse is probably my favorite find. I now own three glittery Laurence Kazar pieces-- two dresses and one top. All of them are so 80's and so tacky, but also so wonderful. I love pairing them with funkier, rougher items, such as a leather jacket or boyfriend jeans. Its just enough to tone down the tackiness.
