Mister Giraffe on my shoulder..

I found this giraffe brooch at the Franklin Antique mall several months ago, and I've been meaning to blog about it. It's just so quirky! Last night, when I was organizing my outfit for today, I realized how great it looks on this bold-shouldered jacket. However, the fabric is super fragile, and I'm afraid of a tear. By the way, this jacket is made out of recycled polyester. I feel like Lady Gaga in this jacket, with a touch of eco-friendliness.

Spring Broken

Today was my first day back to school after spring break. Sad... but I put on a colorful, sunny outfit and had a wonderful day anyways!

Vintage Custo Barcelona top, Neiman Marcus skirt (from Goodwill), Sam Edelman "Zoe" booties, Forever 21 flowers, vintage belt (from Goodwill), Pangea sunglasses, and my Fish Purse from the Santa Fe Farmer's Market

Santa Fe, New Mexico

I just got back from an absolutely wonderful trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I took hundreds and hundreds of photos, and I've come back with so many ideas! I'm ridiculously inspired!
While strolling around Santa Fe, I visited art galleries and museums, looked at turquoise jewelry, and went into countless antique stores. I also toured Ghost Ranch, where Georgia O'Keeffe worked and lived. Basically, I have so many things to blog about!!

Vintage skirt and Moschino Cheap & Chic jacket (both from Goodwill), Forever 21 and h&m flowers, and Pangea sunglasses.

Also, I bought a new purse... and.... IT'S A FISH!?!?!?
I found it at the Santa Fe farmers market, and it might be the coolest thing I've ever purchased. I've received so many comments on it from all kinds of people (small children, airport personel, pedicab drivers, etc.)..
"Your purse looks like a fish."
"Did y'all go fishing this morning?"
"Oh my gosh, she found Nemo!"
"Mommy! Look! Her purse is a fish!"

Also, I got this turquoise ring. It was an early sixteenth birthday present.

Lights! Camera! Action!

I made this skirt in a sewing class a few years ago. I hardly ever wear it, but I've been trying to reintegrate old pieces back into my wardrobe. The skirt is so mod and funky, and the colors in it make it easy to wear-- pinks, purples, reds, and oranges all coordinate perfectly. I paired it with a slouchy tee from Target and my new sunglasses from Pangea.
I had quite a bit of fun editing all my photos to look like movie screenshots.

Handmade skirt worn with a Target tee shirt, Sam Edelman booties, a New York and Company blazer, a Forever 21 flower, and sunglasses from Pangea.

Breathing Fire

On saturday afternoon, I wandered down to Hillsboro Village in downtown Nashville. I went in all the adorable boutiques, I petted all the cats in the storefronts, I took some photos in front of the dragon mural, and most importantly... I bought some amazing new sunglasses at Pangea. Pangea is the best place in Nashville to buy cute trinkets, retro rompers, cat pillows, Frida Kahlo pendants, and sea foam green round sunglasses (!)
If you're ever in Nashville, Pangea is the place to be.

Thakoon on Thakoon

I remember when the Thakoon for Target collection first came out a couple years ago, I saw these two pieces worn together in a Teen Vogue article. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous looking. Boy-oh-boy, things sure have changed...

Skirt, Sweater, Thakoon for Target. Belt, Target. Shoes, Sam Edelman. Flowers, necklace, Forever 21.
Wow... it's been way too long since my last post. School has been ridiculous.
I have been working on a lot of art lately, and I'm looking forward to blogging about it soon.

Ever since my adorable, but terribly mischievous kitten stole my favorite flower headband, I've been clustering some of my other flowers. It seems that one flower just isn't enough these days.
Flowers from Forever 21 and H&M; worn with Claire's Accessories glasses, Ross Simon's earrings, vintage polka dot pants, Jacobs by Marc Jacobs tee shirt, New York and Company blazer, and a necklace borrowed from my mom.
