Shadow Dancing.

Skirt, Flowers, Forever 21. Tee Shirt, Jacobs by Marc Jacobs. Shoes, hand studded. Bag, Sunglasses, vintage.

I picked up this tee shirt from the Marc by Marc Jacobs store in Savannah recently. They have so many tee shirts with interesting and quirky designs. They're great in place of a solid color tee or under a blazer.
This look is a great example of how accessories can make an outfit. If it weren't for my headband and sunglasses, this outfit would just be black and white. I think pops of color add something unique to the look and make it more eclectic.
I've been working some on re-vamping my blog and giving it a new look. What do you think?

You can do it, we can help.

Well. I finally gave in and studded my cork wedges.
A big thanks to you, Jeffrey Campbell for providing me with such marvelous inspiration.
After painting the insole and heel with silver acrylic paint, I hammered approximately 750 silver flat-backed, thumbtacks into the cork. All with a little help from The Home Depot. Who would have thought they would be such great help with my little D.I.Y. project?! (And in case you were wondering, that's where my post title came from-- The Home Depot mantra.)
You can view the post where I was deliberating the project here. Some of you told me to go for it and some of you forewarned me against it. But alas, I went for it. And I could not be more pleased.
I want to wear these shoes everyday for the rest of my life. Not really, but you get the idea.

Social Butterfly

I finally found some new rain-boots to replace my lovely, but outworn cheetah galoshes.

Twinkle Toes

While I was on my recent trip to SCAD, I spotted these great beaded sandals. I think they are so cute and chic-- they could dress up any outfit and pull together many different colors in a look.

ABC Fashion Show

Recently, I participated in an ABC fashion show, which means "anything but clothes". It was a competition to design a garment out of trash items. My group used rubber gloves, tissue paper, tin foil, as well as several other miscellaneous items. Our model walked to "Bad Romance", which I felt was very fitting for our Lady Gaga-eque outfit. Our look won for "Best Use of Materials".

Metamorphosis

Lately, I have been making an extra effort to take pictures of things that inspire me. So that when I own a design firm or work for a fashion magazine or something of the sort, I will have references of the bucket-loads of objects I acquire inspirations from. Recently, I gathered muse from this ground-breaking handbag in the purse section of T.J. Maxx.
I was just kind of in awe.

Now tell me that isn't just about the coolest thing you've ever seen?!?
I've seen numerous collapsable handbags in my time, but this one is by far the most magnificent. I would have brought this personable pocketbook home with me, but it's price tag was to exorbitant for my wallet. Quite the bummer.

Prints Charming

Top, vintage. Skirt, Wilster. Shoes, Payless. Necklace, T.J. Maxx. Sunglasses, vintage. Flowers, Forever 21.

I bought this shirt at Goodwill ages ago, but it wasn't until recently that I realized how much I love it. I think the print is just so charming and fantastic! All the colors in this outfit make me so happy-- especially the pea green of the necklace against the bright blue of the blouse.

So Effortlessly Chic...

This is one of my exceptionally fashionable friends that I met at SCAD. The flowy, floral skirt, paired with the simple tee shirt is so effortlessly chic. She looks so sophisticated and modern! I think her bag is my favorite part.

My Week at SCAD

I believe I have mentioned it before, but last week I took part in a pre-college program at The Savannah College of Art and Design, called SCAD Summer Seminars. I took two classes-- Metals/ Jewelry Making and Fashion Illustration. It was a great opportunity to experience the school. I had such a great time! It makes me so excited to get out of high school and go to design school! Here are some of my photos that I took in the fashion building.

Stripes and Girly Eyelet

This is another one of my friends that I met at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I love this look so much! The girly eyelet fabric looks modern and very Urban Outfitters-esque when paired with the belted sweater and leather accessories. And check out her super cute cropped haircut!
